Apple Butter

6-8 lbs apples, honeycrisp/fuji are nice soft apples to use!!

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp ground clove

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup apple cider or apple juice


In a crockpot combine all ingredients, cook on low for 8 hours. After 8 hours, turn off and let cool with top off crockpot for 2 hours. If you want it smooth, add to a blender and store in glassware/mason jars in the refrigerator. To have a chunky texture, leave as is!!


**I've made this with apples peeled and apples not peeled. There are very small amounts of peel that are left (I blended it to make it smooth) and it wasn't a huge difference. And MUCH LESS OF A HASSLE.
